Contestant Edward Hunter was the first axed from the new series of The Apprentice last night.

The new series of The Apprentice kicked off last night on BBC1, with accountant Edward Hunter the first hopeful to get the axe from business tyrant Lord Sugar.

The 25-year-old led the boy’s team to defeat in their first task, buying and selling produce.

Rather bizarrely, the trained accountant refused to talk figures, or budgeting, and instead spent a rather large proportion of the team’s £250 on a lot of oranges. Which they then unfortunately couldn’t juice, due to a malfunctioning juicer (read: pure TV gold). This led to a lot of squeezing. And not a lot of juice.

It seems he wanted to 'shake' his accountant past in order to unleash his inner entrepreneur.

Oh dear.

The failed contestant was reduced to tears as he exited the show, insisting he was not only the 'youngest' but also the 'shortest'.

The girls team were victorious under Dali Lama-trained leader Melody, despite the quintessential girly bickering.

But the hottest trending topic on Twitter last night was Stuart Baggs (the brand). The former Apprentice contestant found himself in the spot light once again, as many asked 'who is this year's Stuart Baggs?'

As the man himself tweeted: ‘There is only one Heinz tomato ketchup. There’s only one #baggsthebrand.’
