Simon Cowell has decided this finalists will all sing different tracks, after last year’s winner Joe McElderry failed to secure the top spot
With the X Factor final drawing near – just two more weeks to go! – competition behind the scenes is really hotting up. And now it’s been revealed Simon Cowell is so desperate for the winner’s single to secure this year’s Christmas number one spot, he’s chosen a completely different song for each of the five finalists.

According to sources, the ambitious media mogul has been pulling out the stops to ensure the show goes out with a bang, and for the first time in X Factor history, has decided that the finalists won’t all have the same single.
It’s thought following 2009 winner Joe McElderry’s crushing chart defeat – he was pipped to the post by Rage Against the Machine, in an anti-X Factor campaign – the show boss decided something needed to be done.
So to boost chances of the winner getting to number one – and because this year’s contestants are all so different – Simon’s picked them all a completely different track.
And he’s been willing to spend big money to secure the best, and most current songs. ‘No expense is being spared,’ one insider told the Mirror.
