After the success of the first two movies, the rumour mill has gone into overdrive, suggesting the studio is moving straight on to a third.

Now reports suggest bosses have expressed an interest in making a flick about Carrie's early life.

Writer Candace Bushnall has already penned The Carrie Diaries, a novel about the character's high school years.

And we've already seen a sneak peak at Carrie arriving in New York, after being transported back in time at the beginning of the second movie.

Now the latest rumours suggest work has already begun adapting the new book for the big screen.

‘The sequel has already made $90 million worldwide,' one insider told E! Online.

‘People are still having fun with it. Of course they want the teen years.'

But who would play Carrie in her early life?

Well, reports suggest the star of choice could be none other than Disney teen Miley Cyrus, who, after a cameo in the second movie - is already waiting in the wings.

‘I would totally do it. It would be so cool,' she said in a radio interview just yesterday.
