Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith have been together for 20 years - but according to comments made by Will this week, it hasn't been an easy ride. In fact, it's even been 'excruciating' and 'gruelling' at times.
Opening up to Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of his new film, Concussion, Will said that the reason he and Jada have stayed together so long is because they refuse to quit.
'We've been married 20 years and we've been asking ourselves [what’s the secret to marriage] and really at the end of the day it’s just not quitting,' Will said.
'You can’t expect it to be easy, it’s like our marriage was the most difficult, gruelling, excruciating thing that we have ever taken on in our lives. And you know, we're just not quitters.'
He also said that contrary to popular opinion that couples should constantly work on their relationship, he and Jada disagree, feeling that it is more important to work on themselves.
'If there is a secret I would say is that we never went into working in our relationship,' he added. 'We only ever worked on ourselves individually, and then presented ourselves to one another better than we were previously.'

Well, it's certainly romantic to see how important working on marriage is to Will and Jada, but we don't think we'd be best pleased if our husband said marriage was 'excruciating' and 'gruelling'.
