We're taking bets on which British designer Kate Middleton will choose for the Diamond Jubilee pageant

As the Diamond Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend approaches our thoughts have turned to Kate Middleton and, more specifically, her wardrobe.

It's been confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will join the Queen on the Royal Barge during the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant.

So, what will Kate choose to wear for the momentous occasion, which will be watched by millions of people around the world?

For starters, we'd bet our bottom dollar that for such a patriotic event Kate Middleton will opt for a British designer. The Duchess has, after all, heavily favoured UK-based fashion houses during her first year of royal engagements.

Alexander McQueen has seemed to be one of her favourites over the last twelve months with the likes of Jenny Packham, Alice Temperley, Katherine Hooker and Matthew Williamson following not far behind.

Or, perhaps Kate will go for a dress from the high street as she has so often done before. In that case, can we expect to see Duchess Kate adorned in Whistles or Reiss as she boards the Royal Barge along with the other members of the royal family?
