The England footballer says he will not attempt to save his marriage if that's what his wife wants
Wayne Rooney has told friends he will not try to save his marriage to wife Coleen if she decides she wants a divorce.
The couple's relationship is in trouble after it emerged that Wayne, 24, cheated on Coleen with a prostitute while she was pregnant with their son, Kai.
The England footballer reportedly told friends he doesn't care if Coleen seeks a divorce and is said to be adamant that he will survive the scandal.
'Wayne is not prepared to take any s**t off the wife and her family, not least because they're all living a very nice life off the back of his talent,' a source told the Daily Mail.
'If she can't handle it and it's over, so be it. Seems he thinks he can pretty much do what the hell he likes because they'd all be nothing without him.'
Coleen, also 24, and 10-month-old Kai are holed up at her parents' home in Formby, Merseyside, while Wayne is in Basle for a match against Switzerland tonight.

The couple's relationship hit the rocks at the weekend after 21-year-old prostitute Jennifer Thompson told the Sunday Mirror she would meet the multi-millionaire footballer for sex in hotels.
She claims he would paid her £1,200 each time, after meeting him in a casino in June 2009, and would chase her with 'sex texts'.
Another source reveals Coleen told Wayne 'I don't want to see you. Just go and play football', as she weighs up their future.
Wayne's own family have advised her to 'bin him' and find someone else.
Natalie Rooney - Wayne's cousin - told Coleen on Twitter, 'Just bag him & bin him. You deserve a million times better.
'Not someone who does this to you and treats you like dirt while he's out sleeping with dirt.'
Wayne was still wearing his wedding ring as he boarded a flight at Luton Airport for Switzerland yesterday, but Coleen has not been seen since the scandal broke.
Do you think Coleen should stay with Wayne? Is he right to let the marriage fall apart if that's what she wants? Tell us your thoughts below!
