Ryan Gosling and his heartbreakingly hot looks are (thankfully) gracing the big screen once again in gritty flick Gangster Squad set in the 40s. But while the plot focuses on tension between the police and mafia, the actor hints that the drama continued on set too. GANGSTER SQUAD ON SET PHOTOS

Of course, being the lovely guy that Ryan Gosling is, he straight away insisted on praising the film’s director, Ruben Fleischer, saying: ‘It [Gangster Squad] was a huge undertaking for a director, because you have a lot of egos on set.

‘Then you have the period and then trying to balance the film with the truth. It was a really big undertaking I thought he handled it like a mench.’

And by the looks of the trailer, Ryan also handled his part playing Sergeant Jerry Wooters pretty well. Someone else who relished in her role wasEmma Stone who plays Ryan’s love interest.

Needless to say the actress had a ball being paid to lock lips with Ryan, she said: ‘It was always interesting there was always something fun that happened on set.’

We imagine most of that ‘fun’ circulated around being close to Ryan…
