The songstress goes all understated and arty in her new fashion video
In stark contrast to her bonkers music video for new single, You and I, Lady Gaga has just released a fashion film to accompany the song, and it’s understated and beautiful.
The short clip is shot in arty black and white (with one splash of colour at the end) and shows the usually outlandish songstress in a series of dance-inspired poses wearing a simple silk slip dress, ballet pumps and her long blonde hair worn either loose and natural or in a tousled bun.
The film was directed by Dutch fashion photography duo, Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, with close friend and Mugler designer, Nicola Formichetti taking up the fashion director role.
The video is the first in a series of fashion films set to be released by Gaga to coincide with You and I.
She tweeted yesterday: ‘Have a surprise for LittleMonsters! Didn't just shoot 1 You and I music video. 5 more fashion films to come by @inezandvinoodh. 1st in 3 hrs.’
