After being blasted for miming on the X Factor earlier this year, Cheryl Cole silenced critics yesterday, with a show-stopping live acoustic performance on comic Alan Carr’s Chattyman show.

The songstress stepped on stage not just once, but twice during the special show, treating viewers to a pared down rendition of hit Promise This, as well as track The Flood, from her latest Messy Little Raindrops album.
She even managed to fit in a costume change between songs, taking to the stage for her first performance in a daring black maxi, before stepping into a figure-hugging white asymmetric ensemble during the break.
Cheryl kept quite on rumours she could be heading stateside to take up a place on the American X factor panel when she took to Alan Carr's sofa, but admitted ‘there have been conversations’.
But she was happy to play down talk of a rift between members of Girls Aloud, revealing Nadine Coyle is still ‘very much’ part of the band.

'I haven't got any news for you just yet,' she said of talk they could reunite, adding of rumours of infighting: ‘That's all been blown well out of proportion. Nadine is still very much part of Girls Aloud.’
Mrs C also opened up on her plans for Christmas, revealing she would be taking some well-deserved time off, and spending the festive season at home.
'I'll be taking some time out with my doggies, [spending some time with the] family, [eating] Christmas pudding and turkey sandwiches,' she said.
