The studio have unveiled plans to give the superhero movie a makeover, after the third instalment
The third, action-packed Batman flick – The Dark Knight Rises – has yet to hit screens, but already bosses are planning the next instalment. And it seems the superhero could be set to get a makeover.
Warner Bros execs have hinted at plans to completely reboot the famous franchise, revealing they intend to ‘reinvent’ Batman after the film’s next instalment.
‘We have the third Batman, but then we'll have to reinvent Batman,’ the studio’s chief Jeff Robinov admitted yesterday, confirming they are looking to overhaul both the characters and story in upcoming movies.
‘Chris Nolan and [producing partner and wife] Emma Thomas will be producing it,’ he added, ‘so it will be a conversation with them about what the next phase is.’
In January, it was revealed Love and Other Drugs starletAnne Hathaway won the battle against Keria Knightly, Gemma Arterton and Jessica Biel to land the coveted role of famous feline, Catwoman in the upcoming, third movie.
The upcoming flick will see Christian Bale return as the lead, with Tom Hardy also joining the A-list cast as 'one of Batman's most formidable enemies,' Bane - and will be once again directed by Christopher Nolan.
