Hollywood’s finest have paid tribute to screen legend Dame Elizabeth Taylor, who passed away at the age of 79, yesterday. Overnight, Elton John, George Michael, Stephen Fry and Madonna led a chorus of stars paying homage to her talents, all speaking of how she will be sadly missed.

Elton John led praise of the twice Oscar-winning actress, expressing his sadness on hearing the news.
'We have just lost a Hollywood giant. More importantly, we have lost an incredible human being, he said.
George Michael paid his respects, writing: ‘Such a sad day, Elizabeth Taylor was the last of the Hollywood greats, and a fantastically charming woman.’
Stephen Fry spoke of how the actress was ‘surely the last of a breed….’ while eighties icon Boy George said the star was ‘one of the worlds true beauties.’

Madonna also opened up about the Elizabeth's 'amazing' work, and how she was 'one of a kind.'
'I am so sorry to hear that this great legend has passed,' she said. 'I admired and respected her not only as an actress but for her amazing and inspiring work as an AIDS activist. She was one of a kind.'
Elizabeth’s son, Michael Wilding paid tribute, in a statement read out on Good Morning America yesterday.
'My mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest with great passion, humor and love,’ it read.
‘Though her loss is devastating to those of us who held her so close and so dear, we will always be inspired by her enduring contributions to our world.'
The screen legend died at the Cedars-Sinai Hospital hospital in Los Angeles in the early hours of this morning, after suffering from congestive heart failure.
'Legendary actress, businesswoman, and fearless activist Elizabeth Taylor died peacefully today in Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles,' a spokesman said in a statement.
'She was surrounded by her children - Michael Wilding, Christopher Wilding, Liza Todd, and Maria Burton,' it added.
Taylor - who was married eight times, and famously tied the knot to Richard Burton twice - is survived by ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Today, it’s been revealed Elizabeth’s final resting place may be in Wales, after she and twice husband Richard Burton made plans to be buried together, at a family grave in Pontrhydyfen, near Port Talbot, south Wales.
