Wedding planning always comes with its own share of drama, from placating people over the bridesmaids dresses to navigating who does and doesn’t get an invite. For Meghan Markle, she’s also got a pretty difficult estranged family to deal with - her sister’s writing a tell-all book about her, allegedly hopping on a plane to report on the wedding despite not being invited and now her brother Thomas Markle Jr. has penned an open letter to Prince Harry asking him to call off the nuptials.
Her 51 year old half brother shared a handwritten letter exclusively with In Touch, addressed to the royal. Although it was penned under the guise of looking out for him, it becomes clear in just a few lines that it’s a thinly veiled character assassination of his estranged sister.
The letter begins, ‘Dear Prince Harry, Its not to [sic] late, Meghan Markle. As more time passes to your royal wedding, it become very clear that this is the biggest mistake in Royal Wedding history. I’m confused why you don’t see the real Meghan that the whole world now sees, Meghan’s attempt to act the part of a princess like a below C average Hollywood actress is getting old.’
Thomas then moves on to drag the family’s financial dealings into the public sphere, accusing the Suits star of ‘using her own father until he’s bankrupt...mostly over all her debts.’ He claimed she was a ‘jaded, shallow, conceited woman’ and warned Harry she would ‘make a joke of you and the royal family heritage’.
Thomas Markle Jr also claimed his father had not been invited to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding, despite other sources reporting that he would be in attendance. We’d take that with a pinch of salt, as there’s been numerous reports to the contrary. In a photo that went viral, Meghan Markle’s father was photographed reading a book called Images of Britain ahead of his visit and will reportedly be receiving a coat of arms to wear at the Windsor Castle wedding on May 19.
The estranged sibling went on to say that ‘its not too late for Harry’, which is a bit of a strange statement given that the letter was addressed to him directly. He also fixated on the fact that Meghan has allegedly not invited him nor her distant sister Samantha Markle, saying that ‘she dosent invite her own family and instead invites complete strangers to the wedding, “who does that”.’

He called the upcoming nuptials a ‘fake fairytale wedding’ and continued, ‘Whether she want [sic] to forget knwoing [sic] me or the rest of her family, family comes first. Also you would think that a royal wedding would bring a torn family closer together, but I guess were [sic] all distant family to Meg.’
The letter was signed off, ‘Sincerely, Tom Markle Jr’.
Though we doubt that Prince Harry, Meghan Markle or Kensington Palace will actually respond, we’re here for a reality TV style throwdown. In any case, if Tom still wanted to go to the wedding - he definitely won’t be going now.
