The Saturdays' Frankie denies dating Ashley Cole

The singer says she’s never even met the footballer, after rumours of secret dates hit the tabloids this morning

The Saturdays singer Frankie Sandford has flatly denied claims that she's been secretly dating Cheryl Cole's husband Ashley Cole.

This morning, The Sun reported that the footballer and The Saturday have been enjoying secret dates in the wake of his recent split with Cheryl Cole.

But the rumours have been firmly quashed by 21-year-old Frankie, who insists that she's never even met Ashley.

‘Really upset and angry by the story in The Sun,' she posted via her Twitter page this morning. ‘Can't believe they can just print something that's not true.'

‘I've never even met the man.'

The story in The Sun claims that Frankie and Ashley have enjoyed a number of secret dates at the footballer's North London home - where he's been staying since his high-profile split.

‘Frankie and Ashley have met on a number of occasions over the last few weeks,' a source allegedly told the newspaper.

‘Ashley has found a good pal in Frankie, he really enjoys her company.'

‘She is fond of him as well,' they added.

The Saturdays singer recently split from her McFly boyfriend Dougie Poynter, and has since also been linked with JLS star Aston Merrygold - whose bandmate Marvin Humes is coincidentally dating fellow Saturday Rochelle Wiseman.

Meanwhile, Cheryl Cole spent her Easter weekend in LA, where she was rumoured to be spending time with close pal Will.I.Am from the Black Eyed Peas - and was also spotted arriving at Simon Cowell's mansion for dinner.

The X Factor judge has also been closely linked to dancer Derek Hough - who appears in the video for her new single Parachute - since announcing her separation from husband Ashley at the end of February.
