Elizabeth Taylor was the object of many desires but none more so than Colin Farrell, the Hollywood actor has now revealed.

In an unexpected revelation on the Ellen DeGeneres show, Colin has opened up about his little-known love affair with the late Cleopatra actress, which latest until her death in 2011.

Seriously.

With a history of dating famous women including Demi Moore, Angelina Jolie and Britney Spears, Colin told the TV show host: ‘It was kind of like the last, it feels like in my head, not her, I’m projecting, but the last kind of romantic relationship I had, which was never consummated.’

The Saving Banks star described his hospital encounter with some of Elizabeth’s closest friends, as she was undergoing surgery to have a stent put in her heart in 2009.

Colin, who was welcoming the birth of his son, said he couldn’t stop thinking about the late actress, who died at the age of 79.

‘I got home a few days later with Henry and I was thinking about Elizabeth and how she was doing,’ he explained. ‘And I called my publicist and I said I bumped into some people of Elizabeth Taylor’s, some friends of hers, could I send her some flowers?

‘And my publicist said, ‘That’s funny because I’m looking at and orchid from Elizabeth Taylor for you”… I said, “Wow that’s amazing".'

‘I then cheekily about a week later said, ‘Listen is there any chance I can go…can I go and see her?’

‘That was the beginning of a year and a half or two years of what was a really cool time,’ Colin revealed. ‘I wanted to be [husband] number eight but we ran out of road.’

Elizabeth backed up Colin’s claims in 2011, when she name-dropped him in an interview with Kim Kardashian.
