Batman stars descend on the UK for Dark Knight premiere
Having already made box-office history in the US this weekend, the stars of the new Batman movie descended on London last night for the European premiere of the record-breaking movie.
Christian Bale, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Michael Caine were among cast members that arrived to greet fans on the red carpet, bringing a high dose of Hollywood glamour to the capital's Leicester Square.

Gyllenhaal, who is known for her bold fashion choices, made yet another, donning a plunging jumpsuit from Stella McCartney's spring/summer collection. A controversial choice perhaps, with many fashion pundits criticising the look, but we applaud the actress's reluctance to opt for conventional red-carpet fare.
Indicating that the jumpsuit is continuing to see a style renaissance, the actress is not the first to opt for one of Stella's all-in-ones for a premiere. Gwyneth Paltrow wore a more fitted version of the same design to an Iron Man showing earlier this year (see photos here).
London's young style leaders joined the Hollywood A-list, with Alexa Chung, Daisy Lowe, Kelly Osbourne and Peaches Geldof all in attendance.

Lowe and Chung arrived arm-in-arm, with both opting for chic monochrome looks. For model-of-the-moment Daisy, a black mini dress made a stylish choice, while Chung looked classic in a black pencil skirt, white tee and chunky black patent heels.
The film took a record breaking $158.3 million at the US box office over the weekend, smashing records previously held by Spider-Man 3.
