Ouch.

While she released the audio last month, Taylor Swift’s video for Ready For It will be out soon. In fact, she just posted a teaser to the video for the second song from her new album, Reputation, a few days ago, leaving fans curious. After we got to hear the song itself, it was revealed that the lyrics are likely about Swift’s current boyfriend, Joe Alwyn.
But based on one thing spotted in the teaser, the video may be centred around one of Swift’s recent ex-boyfriends — musician and producer Calvin Harris. The two broke up in 2016 after a reported 15 months together.
While the teaser itself is only 15 seconds, every single second is action-packed. In fact, it looks more like a movie trailer than a video teaser.
The reference happens near the beginning of the teaser. When Taylor Swift’s name enters the screen, it’s accompanied by lightning bolts.

While many might just assume it’s a cool effect, some fans noted that lightning bolts were a key part of the artwork for Harris’ single This Is What You Came For. When the song was released, Swift had a hidden writing credit, under the name of Nils Sjöberg.
This fan even thinks that This Is What You Came For and Ready For It may be linked.
Since people spotted a hidden detail in Swift’s video for Look What You Made Me Do that possibly referenced her time with Harris — a gold locket, similar to the one he gave her during their relationship shaped into the word “No” — it’s not out of the question that more will come out with this new release.

It’s important to remember that nothing is coincidental when it comes to Swift — especially regarding the music she’s released this year. It seems like every scene is carefully crafted to represent something she’s faced in life, whether it be a relationship gone sour, a feud, or a key moment in her career.
No matter what, we’re ready for Swift’s next music video, and can’t wait to continue putting the pieces together.
