The hit show is losing two of its original cast member for season five
Gossip Girl is losing not one, but two original cast members - Jessica Szohr and Taylor Momsen are leaving the Upper East Side.
Although Momsen's role as Jenny Humphrey had already been greatly reduced during season four of the hit show, it's now been confirmed she won't return as a series regular.
17-year-old Momsen was rumoured to have been suspended from the show last year after angering crew with her increasingly erratic behaviour, but the network was quick to state her role in the series had been reduced for 'creative reasons.'
Szohr, who plays Vanessa Abrams, also saw her character cut back during the fourth series, and won't be returning for five.
TV Line has confirmed that both characters will be left open for the actresses to return in guest spots.
Leighton Meester, Blake Lively, Ed Westwick, Chace Crawford and Penn Badgley are all still on board for Gossip Girl's new season, while Kaylee DeFer, who plays Serena and Eric van der Woodsen's cousin Charlotte, has been promoted to a new regular role.
