The Spice Girls
On 17th June we wrote...
It’s been 20 years since the Spice Girls released Wannabe (sorry, we feel now old too) and, in case you haven’t heard, the nineties pop queens may be celebrating the landmark with a reunion tour. The last time we saw all five Spices together was three years ago, when they appeared at the London Olympics closing ceremony. Alas, this time around both Victoria Beckham (Posh) and Melanie Chisholm (Sporty) won’t be partaking.
Scary, Baby and Ginger are reportedly not deterred, and will be holding X-Factor-style auditions to replace them, according to Life & Style. 'The girls are going to be making a formal announcement about try-outs for their spots in the next few weeks,' a source told the site.
Why on earth VB and Mel C would pass up on such an opportunity is a mystery it seems. Perhaps Victoria is trying to disassociate herself from the music industry altogether after the revelations of her secretly recorded hip-hop album (a Friday playlist must) recently surfaced. Plus she’s got a very successful fashion line and an immaculate brood of children to keep her to do list heaving.
As for Mel C, she’s obviously still reeling over the news that Mel B apparently unfollowed her on Twitter and Instagram. The only way we see to salvage this situation would be if Scary DMed her a YouTube link to ‘Say You’ll be There’.
