Lord Freddie Windsor married his actress fiancée Sophie Winkleman at the weekend in a lavish ceremony at Hampton Court in London. The happy couple invited 400 guests to share in their big day celebrations, but while most expected a right royal turn out, the guest closest in line to the throne was Princess Eugenie.
Sophie, who has starred in Channel 4’s Peep Show and ITV’s The Palace looked picture perfect in a £5,000 full-skirted ivory gown made of 80ft of silk duchesse satin and designed by Russian couture designer Anna-Roza Bistroff. However, we can’t ignore the style dip – lace sleeves that appeared totally out of place with the rest of the design.
The bride left her hair loose and flowing, save for a simple diamond tiara and full-length veil.
Although the bride and groom may not have had their full family in attendance, they certainly weren’t short of a celebrity guest. Among those who celebrated with the newlyweds were film director Mike Figgis, Sophie’s TV presenter half-sister Claudia Winkleman, Ben Fogle, singer Bryan Adams and Jemima Khan and her brother Zac Goldsmith.
The couple chose to evade huge magazine deal offers from Hello magazine and OK!, instead opting to give an interview and photoshoot to royal magazine Majesty.
