Six Times Adele Totally Understood Our Heartbreak

Adele, we know you get us better than anyone else...

Adele’s new single Hello is out. That’s right, after a three year hiatus the singer/songwriter is back and the response has been pretty emotional, as in people are actually literally crying over the new track.

Adele released a statement earlier this week to say that her new album 25 is a 'make-up album' - about forgiving herself for lost time and for wishing her life away. But from Twitter’s reaction this morning it seems people are still equating the lyrics to Hello to their own heartbreak.

And perhaps that’s because the soon-to-be another runaway hit includes lines such as: ‘Hello, can you hear me? I’m in California dreaming about who we used to be. When we were younger and free.’

Cue the sobs.

So in honour of the arrival of yet another anthemic break-up tune from the marvellous Adele, here’s six times the woman of the hour understood our heartbreak so completely….

When She Sang: 'Hello from the other side, I must of called a thousand times.' ...And it reminded us of that time we got drunk and called our ex-boyfriend over and over again even though he turned his phone off and we wouldn’t have been able to get any words out if he had picked up because we were crying too much.

When she sang… ‘Nevermind, I’ll find someone like you, I wish nothing but the best for you.’ ...And we kind of got where she was coming from but we also didn’t really wish the best for our exes, let's face it.

When she sang: ‘At least I’ve tried to tell you, I’m sorry for breaking your heart, but it don’t matter, it clearly doesn’t tear you apart anymore.’ ...And it was like when you wanted to say sorry to someone for hurting them but then it turned out that they had already moved on and then you were a little bit sad about it.

When she sang: ‘I could make you happy, make your dreams come true, nothing that I wouldn’t do, go to the ends of the earth for you, to make you feel my love.’ ...And it was like that time we bought a ticket to visit our uni boyfriend in Scotland (which is pretty much the end of the earth) so that he could feel our love, but then he wasn’t in and we had to go home.

When she sang: ‘Round my hometown, memories are fresh, round my hometown, ooh the people I’ve met.’ ...And this is like when you go back to where you grew up and you see the people you met and it reminds you of what life used to be like and you can’t help but cry because Adele is always making us cry.

When she sang: ‘When I lay with you, I could stay there, close my eyes, feel you here forever.’ ...And it was literally about everyone you ever loved and you are crying again.
