Simon Cowell Addresses Baby Rumours - But What Does He Have To Say?

Simon Cowell has finally broken his silence on the baby rumours rocking Hollywood, telling reporters he will 'eventually clear up' the reports 'when the time is right'.

Speaking at a press conference for the new series of US X Factor, he said: 'I would love to [talk], but I have to respect a lot of people’s feelings right now.

'There a lot of things I will eventually clear up when the time is right,' he continued, 'but I really have to be sensitive because there’s a lot of people’s feelings involved here.'

Both Andrew Silverman and his estranged wife Lauren also released statements yesterday, as the news travelled around the world.

Andrew said: 'My top priority is protecting my 7-year-old son while working to resolve all outstanding issues with my wife.

'Hopefully people can respect the interest of our child during this process.'

Lauren said: 'I am committed to sorting things out with Andrew as amicably as possible to ensure the well-being of our son. I would hope for some space and privacy in order to work through this.'

Simon Cowell's baby statement comes as it is revealed he could be forced to appear in court, after being named in US court papers filed by Lauren's estranged husband.

It's thought Andrew Silverman, who has accused his wife of 'cruel and inhuman treatment,' has filed for divorce on the grounds of 'adultery' in New York, and is also seeking sole custody of the couple's 7-year-old son.

Reports suggest Simon could be asked to testify details of his affair with Lauren during the case, and even take a DNA test to confirm the child she is carrying is his.

Celebrity divorce lawyer Raoul Felder told the Mirror of Lauren Silverman's husband: 'He has to be a very angry guy. This could be a knockdown, drag-out fight.'

Yesterday, Us Weekly has published an 'exclusive' story, stating that Lauren is 10 weeks pregnant with Simon's baby, yet is technically still married to her husband, and Simon's friend, a US real estate mogul, Andrew Silverman.

A source tells the magazine: 'She's around 10 weeks along. Lauren and Andrew have been unhappy in their marriage for some time, and their divorce has been in the works for a while. As their marriage deteriorated, she and Simon became close.'
