Filming for the third series of Sherlock is well underway and stars of the show Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman were spotted hard at work in London yesterday.
Wearing the iconic deerstalker hat, Sherlock Holmes, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, was seen emerging from his front door and being greeted by a mob of paparazzi.
Series two of the hit show ended in January 2012 and saw Sherlock seemingly jumping from a building to his death.
SHERLOCK RETURNS FOR THIRD SERIES
Such is the excitement around the next series that the show's producer Sue Vertue wrote an open letter to fans asking them to keep the series three storylines and filming locations a surprise.
In a message published on the fan site Sherlockology, Sue said: 'As many of you are aware, we'll soon be embarking on our first London leg of filming for series 3.

'I'm also aware that there is quite a lot of speculation about where we're shooting when. I can't stress how much we the producers and Benedict, Martin (Freeman) and the rest of the cast appreciate your love and dedication to our show - we'll endeavour to live up to your expectations for series 3.'
She added: 'I know this is probably asking a lot, the majority of fans and indeed ourselves would REALLY appreciate it if you didn't post pictures or spoilers or ideally our daily locations.
