Shameless star Elliott Tittensor, who was arrested for attempted murder, after allegedly hitting 18-year-old Oliver Flint with his BMW over the weekend, has taken to Twitter to defend himself.
The actor, famed for his role as Carl Gallagher in the hit Channel 4 series, is alleged to have deliberately driven into the man after he refused to move from in front of his car.
The incident reportedly took place at 2 am in the early hours of Sunday morning in Kentish Town, when Elliott was taking a trip to McDonalds with his actress girlfriend, Kaya Scodelario.
And in the wake of the event, the Shameless star has taken to Twitter to defend himself, insisting there is an ‘ongoing investigation’ into the incident.
‘Please don't believe the papers people, it's an ongoing investigation for a reason,’ he wrote. ‘But we all know how the papers love to put people down.’
But just hours after the Twitter post, the injured boy’s mother spoke out about her son’s injuries, branding the incident ‘inhuman’.
