Teen actress and singer, Selena Gomez, has been confirmed as the host of this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards, to be held in Belfast on 6 November.
The 19-year-old, who is dating Canadian pop-star Justin Bieber, will follow the likes of Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Eva Longoria and Snoop Dogg in hosting one of pop music's biggest nights outside of America.
Although held in a different European city each year the MTV EMAs tend to be dominated by US acts.
Previous EMAs winner, Lady Gaga, leads the pack again with six of this year’s nominations, including Best Female, followed by two other US acts, Katy Perry and Bruno Mars, both up for four awards.
Adele will be flying the British flag with her four nominations, including Best Song for Someone Like You.
As well as hosting, Selena has promised fans she will be tweeting with the latest gossip backstage, perhaps in a bid to help her win the Biggest Fans Award, which she is also nominated for.
