Being one of the most famous people in the world isn't all glitz and glamour, and Selena Gomez has always been very open and honest about the pressures of being in the public eye. She used her AMA acceptance speech to talk about taking time out of the spotlight for her mental health, and admitted that she constantly deletes her social media accounts when things get too overwhelming.
Selena has been in the public eye since she was a child, growing up at what she has previously called 'the biggest high school in the world - the Disney Channel.' She has since broken into the music industry, becoming one of the biggest popstars in the world, and even tried her hand at producing the hit Netflix series, 13 Reasons Why.
But the Bad Liar singer has revealed just how hard being a celebrity of her magnitude can be. The 25 year-old might be the most followed person on Instagram with a staggering 126 million fans glued to her every photo, but in a recent interview Selena confessed that she sometimes feels she has 'no friends'.
Talking to Business of Fashion, she said: 'You have to figure out the people that are in your circle. I feel like I know everybody but have no friends.
'I have like three good friends that I can tell everything to, but I know everyone, I go anywhere and I'm like, "Hey guys, how's it going?" And it feels great to be connected to people, but having boundaries is so important.

'You have to have those few people that respect you, want the best for you and you want the best for them. It sounds cheesy, but it's hard.'
However, Selena is keen to focus on the positives of her fame, saying: 'We have a voice and we have a platform, so we're able to reach people from all the way across the world just by getting on our phones, which is pretty remarkable.
'I've always wanted to connect with people everywhere when I was touring and that was the only way I could, and now I can through this weird device, which is great.'
Good for you, Selena.
