Rihanna as you've never seen her before. The star flaunts a controversial new look in her latest video, Hard
Rihanna is known for her towering heels and bold style, but now she's gone one step further in the video for her new single, Hard.
Taking a leaf out of Lady Gaga's book, the Umbrella star is pictured in a Bryce clinging bodycon dress with fierce padded shoulder spikes.
In a controversial move, Rihanna also poses with what looks like a heavy metal rifle, pointing it upward in the pictures.
Shot in the desert, another scene from the video shows the star in camouflage army colours.
‘It's couture military,' Rihanna said of the concept of the video.
‘Everything is surrounded around the idea of something military. We have tanks, we have troops, we've got helicopters, we've got explosions. We've got lots of cute outfits, lots of bullets. It's crazy.'

And it seems that Lady Gaga - no stranger to controversial wardrobe choices herself - was the inspiration behind Rih's dramatic new look.
'She has a very bold, fearless image,' the star said on the set the Hard video.
'I have to say, I have so much respect for original artists and artists who aren't afraid to do what they want to do,' she continued.
'That's what I respect most, so she's awesome.'
The video for Hard is set to be released at 4pm today.
