Oscar-winning actor Sean Penn is set to divorce his wife, Robin Wright Penn.

The couple have set a record in Hollywood circles by staying married for 11 years, but now the pair has decided to call it quits.

Citing irreconcilable differences, no other details were available on the split. The duo starred together in 1998's Hurlyburly and 1997's She's So Lovely.

Penn spoke openly on his marriage back in 2007 saying: 'Marriage ain't easy, but it's great most of the time, adding: 'I love Robin. I've always loved her.'
