Sarah Jessica Parker was 'heartbroken' after Kim Cattrall said they had never been friends

Every friendship has its bumps in the road, however Sex and the City stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall might not be able to get over this road block. Last year, Kim Cattrall said that she had ‘never’ been friends with her co-stars and SJP opened up about the devastating blow.
Sarah Jessica Parker was a guest on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen to promote her new show Divorce. The host and close friend Andy Cohen asked her, ‘What was your reaction to Kim Cattrall telling Piers Morgan that you were never friends, just colleagues?’
The question clearly affected Sarah, who paused before managing, ‘Just heartbroken.’
She continued, ‘I mean, that whole week - you and I spoke about it endlessly - because I was just...I found it really upsetting because that’s not the way that I recall our experience. So. It’s sad, but I’m kind of - I don’t know - I always think what ties us together is this singular experience. It was a professional experience, but it became personal because it was years and years of our lives, so I’m hoping that that sort of eclipses anything that’s been recently been spoken.’
Kim Cattrall had said on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories last year that she and her fellow co-stars have ‘never been friends’. She also added, ‘We’ve been colleagues and in some ways it’s a very healthy place to be.’
Kim has previously said that she is finished with the show and will not be reprising her role as Samantha, if and when a Sex and the City 3 film happens. At the end of Sarah’s interview with Cohen, he jokingly offered to step in for Kim before suggesting Sharon Stone for the part.

However, she’d have some fierce competition as Sarah Jessica Parker has already offered the role to talk show host Stephen Colbert. She told him earlier this January, ‘According to just very recent documentation about why we’re not making [Sex and the City 3] is because the part usually played by Kim Cattrall has been vacated...Perhaps you’d want to play Samantha?’
We don’t doubt he’d do the role justice. Get the man a wig.
