The just released trailer for the thriller shows Ryan back in action playing a violent thug although rest assured he’s as gorgeous as ever.

The sneak peek into the film that reunites Ryan Gosling with Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn shows the A-lister shot in moody red lighting as we get a glimpse into Julian, the English gangster he plays.

The Only God Forgives plot follows Julian through Bangkok’s criminal underworld as he continues to operate his family’s drug smuggling business. Although things take an even darker turn when his mother, played by Kristin Scott Thomas orders him to kill whoever is responsible for his brother’s death.

While the film is a gritty take on Thailand’s criminal underworld that’s heavily peppered with violent scenes, there is a more positive note: namely Ryan.
