Rupert Grint Apparently Didn't Enjoy Kissing Emma Watson In 'Harry Potter'

When you think of Harry Potter and romance, you probably think of Harry and Ginny Weasley, Hagrid and Madame Olympe Maxime, and of course, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.
You’d also probably think that the moment Rupert Grint, playing Ron, got to kiss Emma Watson, playing Hermione, was a memorable one for the actors.
But in fact, Rupert barely remembers the encounter – and in fact, found it quite awkward.
‘I never look back at that scene,’ Rupert told People at a Harry Potter event across the pond.
‘I've known Emma since she was literally 9 years old and we had this very brother-sister relationship.
‘And it just felt very surreal. I have a memory of her face getting closer and closer. Like, “Oh my God.” I can't really remember anything apart from that.’

He also revealed he was happy he didn’t have to do several takes, saying he was relieved they nailed it in one try.
‘One take was enough,’ he said. ‘It was such a huge moment and there was so much expectation. Quite a lot of pressure actually.’
See both Emma and Rupert talking about that famous scene – and watch how they filmed it – in the video below.
Previously, JK Rowling herself has admitted that she regrets pairing Ron and Hermione together, saying they would have needed relationship counselling and that her heroine should have ended up with Harry.
‘I wrote the Hermione/Ron relationship as a form of wish fulfillment,’ she told Wonderland Magazine in 2014. ‘That’s how it was conceived, really. For reasons that have very little to do with literature and far more to do with me clinging to the plot as I first imagined it, Hermione ended up with Ron.
‘I know, I’m sorry. I can hear the rage and fury it might cause some fans, but if I’m absolutely honest, distance has given me perspective on that. It was a choice I made for very personal reasons, not for reasons of credibility. Am I breaking people’s hearts by saying this? I hope not.’
