Apparently this is why we won't see school photos of Princess Charlotte and Prince George this year
Aw, man.
Aw, man.
If you’re hoping for some adorable back to school photos of Princess Charlotte and Prince George, prepare to be disappointed. Although many parents will be snapping pics of their little ones heading back for their first day of school across the nation, it apparently turns out that Kate Middleton and Prince William won’t be doing the same (or at the very least, sharing the snaps with us).
While previously the royals have published pictures of the mini royals on their first day, all dressed up in their school uniforms, the tradition might wind up being quite short-lived. After chatting with some royal insiders, PEOPLE revealed that ‘there won’t be pictures of the royal children every year’.
Princess Charlotte has actually already gone back to Wilcocks Nursery School for the autumn term, with classes starting earlier this Wednesday. On the other hand, Prince George will get to sleep in and laze about a little while longer as he's set to start next Thursday at Thomas's Battersea. However, it turns out we shouldn't hold our breaths for any piccies.
Their sources added, ‘The couple has always made a point of treating school as a private area, so that George and Charlotte can grow up in as pressure-free an atmosphere as possible.’
It totally makes sense, even if it is a little disappointing for staunch royalists and Princess Charlotte stans. TBH, nobody knows the pressures of being a royal better than George and Charlotte’s parents - especially Prince William who has been papped his entire life. The kids deserve a place they can be free to be regular children, to make mistakes, goof off and grow up without a million cameras pointed in their direction.
Speaking of cameras, budding photographer Kate Middleton has generously shared her pictures of the children in the past. In fact, she was the one behind the lens when Prince George’s bemused pre-school photo was taken in 2016 to commemorate his first day.

She also snapped a much happier back to school photograph of Princess Charlotte earlier this January, sitting on the steps in her crimson uniform and looking like she was born for a photo opp.
For Prince George's first day at Thomas's Battersea last year however, the family decided to take a different route. Prince William himself dropped off Prince George for his first day at school and the event was highly publicised, though sadly Kate Middleton was battling morning sickness and couldn't be there at the time to see him off. While she wasn't handy with her camera to take a few snaps, some official photographs were released of George looking like a million bucks with his pop below.
If you’ve already exhausted previous photographs of the royal children and our gallery on Princess Charlotte’s most adorable moments isn’t cutting it anymore, you won’t have to wait long for newer pictures of the children.
Princess Eugenie will be getting hitched to Jack Brooksbank pretty soon and both Charlotte and George are probably going to be in attendance.
Fingers crossed we get another set of cute pics.
