Brace yourselves for what you're going to read, because you're about to feel very, very old. Cinema's biggest tear-jerker, Romeo & Juliet turns 20 next month and to celebrate director Baz Luhrman has some pretty exciting plans up his sleeve.
Taking to Twitter to make the announcement, Baz posted the following message explaining that he will be releasing previously unseen items from the film to celebrate its 20th birthday on 1st November:
'November 1st is the twentieth anniversary of my second film Romeo & Juliet. It was an extraordinary creative journey, the likes of which I'm sure the cast, crew and close collaborators will never quite experience again.
'Many doubted the preposterous ambition of setting Shakespeare's beloved tragic romance in a heightened creative world with a then relatively unknown Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. But we did make it, overcoming incredible odds shooting entirely in Mexico.
'Over the seven days, the team and I are going to go through our unpublished archives and, as a celebration of times passing, release previously unseen items leading up to Romeo & Juliet's 20th birthday.'
2016 isn't just a big year for Romeo & Juliet. Coincidentally, the film's birthday also coincides with Shakespeare's 400th anniversary, meaning that it's going to be double celebrations all round for fans of both Baz and the Bard on 1st November.
