Robert Pattinson has opened up in the twist in the end of the final Twilight movie, confirming everyone gets a 'happy ending'

Robert Pattinson has opened up on the 'strange' ending to the final Twilight film, confirming reports the Breaking Dawn - Part 2 movie will have a different ending from the book.

Speaking to Hollywood Life about the twist in the end of the last Twilight movie, Rob kept firmly quiet on the exact details of the plot, but did reveal everyone gets a happy ending.

‘You don’t normally get a story where everyone has a happy ending’ he said, ‘which sounds kind of ridiculous but even if you tried to write a happy ending it’s kind of impossible.

‘But Stephenie [Twilight series author Meyer] kind of figures out the throughlines to make everyone have a happy ending, which creates this very odd drama at the end’.

He continued: ‘The ending is really sweet. It’s probably the sweetest moment in the whole film. It’s good.’

Earlier this year it was rumoured Twilight author Stephenie Meyer and screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg had dreamt up a new ending to the film franchise over dinner one night.

Robert Pattinson recalled his surprise at the change, saying: 'When I first read the script, I got to that part and was like, 'What?' And then I had to go back a page. It does it a serious justice.'

We can't help feeling just a little excited about the film.
