Choosing a role that couldn't be further from his softly spoken Twilight alter-ego Edward Cullen, it seems our favourite heartthrob's about to get gritty.
According to reports, Pattinson will star as American army interrogator Eric Maddox in the new movie, the man who played a key role in the tracking of Saddam Hussein, and his eventual arrest in December 2008.
Based on a book written by Maddox himself, it's thought the chilling flick, described as a 'psychological thriller' will be produced Ross M Dinerstein, and has been adapted for screen by Erik Jendresen, also responsible for Band of Brothers.
'This movie is a gripping, edge-of-your-seat thriller,' M. Dinerstein said in a statement about the film, according to movie website Deadline.
