Robert Pattinson named best dressed male

The Twilight heartthrob has beaten off fierce competition to be crowned the most stylish of men by GQ magazine

Forget David Beckham, Daniel Craig and Tom Ford - Robert Pattinson has just been named as the world's best dressed male for 2010.

And not only did he win the crown of most stylish man, but the Twilight heartthrob made the massive leap from ranking 39th last year.

‘The 23-year-old actor has scaled a whopping 38 places in just 12 months,' say GQ. ‘How? Just type his name into Google and the nine million search results might explain this Brit actor's unstoppable rise to the top spot.'

Coming in a close second were the Take That boys, with Arctic Monkey's Alex Turner, rapper Dizzee Rascal and Conservative leader David Cameron also making the top 10.

But the praise for our vampiric boy didn't stop, with designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana hailing him as ‘extremely elegant and inspiring, the true essence of a contemporary man.'

But what about the other end of the scale?

Well it seems that the man most deserving of some sartorial tips from R-Pattz is our very own Prime Minister Gordon Brown, who was named top of the worst dressed list - closely followed by funnyman Russell Brand, and French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
