Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart step out for a rare public appearance...2,500 miles apart

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart step out simultaneously, albeit 2,500 miles apart. As the Twilight clan stood side-by-side on the VMA's stage to present a new 90-second clip of Breaking Dawn: Part 2, one noticeable absent co-star was Kristen Stewart.

Pattinson was all smiles as he appeared with Taylor Lautner, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser and other members of the Twilight cast at the awards ceremony in LA, meanwhile ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart was all the way in Toronto promoting her latest flick.

The actress was making her first public appearance since the cheating scandal that ended her relationship with R-Patz, appearing at the film premiere of her new movie On the Road, at the Toronto International Film Premiere.

Kristen cut a stark contrast to R-Patz's laughter filled evening, walking the red carpet alone.
