Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s 'love at first sight'

The Twilight twosome hit it off from the very second they met, according to director Catherine Hardwick

They my have amazing on screen chemistry, but Twilight director Catherine Hardwick has revealed Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart hit it off the moment they met, and fell in 'love at first sight' during their first audition.

The famous director – who took charge of the first Twilight movie, and is now shooting Red Riding Hood with MC cover girl Amanda Seyfried – introduced the rumoured couple, and has spoken about how she saw the first sparks fly.

‘She felt connected to him from the first moment,’ Catherine told Newsweek of the moment Kristen and Rob were introduced. ‘That electricity, or love at first sight, or whatever it is.’

Telling how Kristen convinced her to give R-Patz the part - after kissing him in an audition - Catherine revealed that that she did develop reservations, after seeing their crackling chemistry.

'Kristen was like, “It's got to be Rob!”’ she said, explaining how she gave Mr Pattinson the part only after a stern talking to abou the age of his new co-star.

'You've got to realize that Kristen is 17 years old,' Catherine revealed she told Rob, who’s four years K-Stew’s senior.

'She's underage. You've got to focus, dude, or you're going to be arrested. I made him swear on a stack of Bibles.'

'He had been fired from his last job, he was unemployed, he was in debt,’ Catherine added of the now-famous actor, who paid for his flight to the LA audition.

Earlier this week, Rob spoke to US Radio host Ryan Seacrest from the set of Breaking Dawn, where he and Kristen are hard at work shooting the Twilight film’s final scenes.
