Rihanna has been carving out her own fashion path for the past several years - and now she's being rewarded for her style risk-taking.
The boundary-pushing pop star, 26, will receive the Fashion Icon Award at the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards in June.
'We are proud to present Rihanna with the CFDA Fashion Icon Award for her impact on the industry as fashion's most exciting ambassador in recent memory,' said Steven Kolb, CEO of CFDA, in a statement.
RiRi certainly didn't reach her fashion star status by conforming to the rules. She's known for wearing controversial styles - like the completely sheer top she rocked during Paris Fashion Week this year. But apparently the Council of Fashion Designers of America appreciates that she always does her own thing.
Past winners of the award include Lady Gaga, Johnny Depp, Iman, Kate Moss and Nicole Kidman.
The CFDA Fashion Awards will take place on 2 June - so that means Rihanna has just over two months to plan her ensemble...
