Katy Perry and Russell Brand married on Saturday, in a spectacular Indian ceremony already being hailed the most glittering of the year. But the happy couple’s special day almost came to a standstill, when a wild tiger snuck in on proceedings and got within 50 feet of the couple and celebrating guests.

Russell and Katy’s furry friend was reportedly attracted to the exclusive resort by the lights and loud music, and was closing in on proceedings when spotted by a member of security.
And far from cute and cuddly, the aggressive stripy beast – recognised by local guards – has become a serious problem in the area, and is said to have killed three locals in attacks in the past year.
Luckily, minders clocked the cheeky animal just in time, and used sticks to distract the creature and scare him away.
‘This particular tiger has killed before,’ an local official revealed. ‘It came into the compound at 11pm, with the party at its peak, and caused pandemonium among staff.’
Staff were reportedly told to be on high alert following the incident, with the newlyweds under armed guard as they retreated back to their luxury tent to enjoy their first night as a married couple.
And it’s thought the new Mr and Mrs Brand – who tied the knot in a Hindu blessing followed by a Christian ceremony earlier in the day – would love to hear the pitter patter of tiny feet soon.
Katy reportedly told friends she would ‘start trying for a baby tonight’ after being told by a fortune-telling parrot she would soon become pregnant.
