It’s Angelina Jolie as you’ve never seen her before. Two extremely rare black and whitephotographs of the famous actress have gone on sale at the Zebra One Gallery.
The pictures, which show a 20-year-old Ange posing in a sultry manner, where taken by London-born photographer Kate Garner in 1995. And, according to Kate, Angelina turned Art Director on the shoot as it was the actress' idea to tie her own legs together for one of the shots.
Kate said of the pictures, which were taken for a magazine: “Angelina explored different poses without much direction from me, including tying her legs together for what would become one of the most unique shots of her to ever be taken. She wasn’t afraid to experiment and be creative, which made for some absolutely beautiful photos.”
Kate went on to add that she enjoyed her time working with the then-budding star: “I liked Angelina a lot, although it was a very conservative shoot. She was quiet and incredibly intense, but she was also very gentle and extremely creative.”
She continued: “Angelina was an absolute joy to work with. She exuded class throughout, and knew how to put her own mark on it. It is still one of my favourite shoots.”
The Zebra One Gallery, which is situated in Hampstead is famed for its collections of rare photographic works and urban art pieces as well as its celebrity clientele, which is rumoured to include George Clooney, Liam Gallagher, Kate Moss, Dynamo, Natalie Appleton and Damien Hirst. The gallery has revealed it will sell a limited run of just fifty 20 x 24 prints of each of the photographs, priced at £1,800.
