New parents Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem took a night off to attend the 83rd Oscars yesterday evening, stepping out at an official event for the first time since the birth of their son.

The proud pair welcomed their first son, baby Leo Encinas Cruz on 22nd January, after Penelope gave birth at the exclusive Cedars Sinai hospital in LA.
And the couple simply oozed happiness as they walked the red carpet hand in hand, their first public event since their new arrival’s birth.
Penelope showed off her enviable post-pregnancy curves as she arrived with her hubby – a rare occurrence in itself – and posed for photos.
The starlet donned a sparkling red L'wren Scott dress and dazzlingChopard High Jewelry diamond earrings for her post-pregnancy Oscar appearance, stepping out out to support her hubby.

Javier was nominated for Best Actorfor Spanish flickBiutiful – his third nomination to date - but was pipped to the post by Brit actor Colin Firth, whose film The King’s Speech swept the board at the event.
After sitting through the ceremony, the new parents shunned the glittering Oscar after-parties, dashing off home to see to their new son.
Others, however, partied into the night, attending bashes thrown by Vanity FairandElton John, as well as the glittering Governor’s Ball.
