Prince's New Girl Cameo Might Just Be The Greatest Thing You'll See Today

Zooey Deschanel gifted New Girl fans with a preview of Prince's upcoming cameo, and it's everything we hoped it would be.

In case anyone had doubts over Prince's appearance on the Super Bowl episode being the best thing to happen to New Girl (besides Schmidt), the preview snap seals the deal.

A self-confessed fan of the FOX show, the Purple Rain singer approached Zooey directly with his request.

'He contacted us last season because he's a huge fan,' executive producer Brett Baer previously told E! News. 'He knows everything about the show. He contacted Zooey [Deschanel] and Hannah [Simone] directly and asked to do the show.

'We couldn't work it out last year. But when the Super Bowl thing was floated, it was perfect timing.'

And judging by the picture, Prince's plans to meddle in Jess and Nick's relationship is suitably awkward.

'He said, 'I want to be involved in the show in a real way and I want to help Nick and Jess with their relationship',' executive producer Dave Finkel revealed. 'He's right in the middle of trying to help [Nick and Jess] work through some stuff and it's amazing.

'His thing was all about getting to Jess and trying to bring out this inner part of her that hadn't been brought to the forefront. The word hip tips was sort of a thing. He put it, 'I think I can give her some hip tips'.'

There we were thinking we couldn't be any more excited for Prince's New Girl cameo.
