A clutch of some of the hottest names in pop hit Manchester last night to perform in front of Princess Anne for the Royal Variety Performance 2011.
Pixie Lott, Leona Lewis and Cee Lo Green joined Nicole Scherzinger – who was taking a break from her stint as a judge on the US version of The X Factor – to sing several of their tracks in front of a crowd at The Lowry Theatre in Salford.
Blonde starlet Pixie whipped the crowd into a frenzy wearing a black ruffled top and glossy hot-pants as she performed a fun showgirl-inspired routine accompanied by a bevy of dancers with feather boas.
Nicole Scherzinger, meanwhile, wore a glamorous black sequinned gown to perform some of her biggest hits, before changing into a Victoriana-inspired dress to sing songs from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera.
The audience was also treated to some laughs courtesy of host for the night Peter Kay, star of The Inbetweeners Greg Davies and Australian comedian Tim Minchin. Jazz singer Tony Bennett and Barry Manilow were also on the bill.
As is tradition with the Royal Variety Performance, after the show all of the stars had the chance to meet Princess Anne and share their thoughts on the night’s performers.
