Pippa Middleton: Being famous for my bum and sister is startling
Pippa Middleton has revealed that she can't make sense of the global fame she's found in the last couple of years
Pippa Middleton has revealed that she can't make sense of the global fame she's found in the last couple of years
Pippa Middleton's bottom has been a hot topic ever since she accompanied Kate Middleton down the aisle at the Royal Wedding in a stunning Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen dress. A fact which hasn't escaped the attention of Ms Middleton herself.
For the first time since she was catapulted into the limelight, Pippa has opened up about what it's like to be the younger sister of the Duchess of Cambridge.
Writing in her new book, Celebrate: A Year of British Festivities for Families and Friends, which is described as a 'feelgood' guide to home entertaining, the 29-year-old talks about struggling to come to terms with her new fame.
PIPPA MIDDLETON'S STYLE HIGHS AND LOWS
'It’s a bit startling to achieve global recognition (if that’s the right word) before the age of thirty, on account of your sister, your brother-in-law and your bottom.
'One day I might be able to make sense of this. In the meantime I think it's fair to say that it has its upside and its downside.'

She continues: 'I certainly have opportunities many can only dream of – but in most ways I'm a typical girl in her 20s trying to forge a career and represent herself in what can sometimes seem rather strange circumstances.
'But I can assure you that it feels even stranger to me than it probably does to you to have seen so much written about me when I have done so little to paint a picture of myself.'
But she adds that she is an optimist and therefore tends to 'concentrate on the advantages'.
It's thought that the deal for the book, with publisher Michael Joseph, is worth £400,000 and that Pippa Middleton won't be doing a promotional tour or any interviews about the book at the risk of compromising Kate Middleton or the Royal Family.
