Pharrell Wore Tuxedo Shorts To The Oscars

Pharrell Williams took a major style risk for the 2014 Oscars - and we're kind of loving it.
The "Happy" singer (a nominee for Best Original Song) took the 'business on the top, party on the bottom' approach for the Oscars red carpet.
After seeing a sea of boring (albeit gorgeous) men in classic black tuxedos, it was a breath of fresh fashion air to see Pharrell arrive wearing a Lanvin tux with the trousers cropped to knee-level.
The singer, 40, posed on the red carpet with wife Helen Lasichanh, happily showing off his bare calves.
Noticeably absent from Pharrell's red carpet look was his favourite Vivienne Westwood hat, which he auctioned off for charity.
The attention-grabbing hat was scooped by U.S. fast-food chain Arby's (whose logo features a similar hat) for a whopping $44,100. But luckily, he has a back-up.

Pharrell donned a black version of the hat for his performance of "Happy," which got everyone in the audience - including Best Supporting Actress winner Lupita Nyong'o - up on their feet.
