The exciting news was revealed to Spanish publication Hola! which confirmed Penelope gave birth to a baby boy at the exclusive Cedars Sinai hospital in Los Angeles.
But the private pair have yet to reveal the name of their new bundle of joy.
Yesterday, Penelope's mother Encarna, her younger brother Eduardo her sister Monica and new boyfried Alex Gonzalez were all said to have been by her side.
Javier and Penelope married in July last year, in an intimate ceremony in the Bahamas, but kept things under the radar, with a rep speaking only to confirm the ceremony, and to reveal the bride wore a dress by Galliano.

And Penelope has made no secret of wanting a family, in the past speaking out about her wish to have children.
'When I [have babies], I want to do it really well. I want it to be my best project in life. I don’t know if I believe in marriage. I believe in family, love and children,' she revealed in an interview in 2009.
And the couple’s new arrival wasn’t the only thing they were celebrating yesterday. Javier was also nominated for an Oscar at this year’s glittering Academy Awards, for his role in latest flick, Biutiful.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
