Spanish stars Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem welcomed a bouncing baby boy into the family over the weekend, and now a rep for the pair has confirmed the couple ‘doing great,’ and are thrilled with their new arrival.
The private pair’s happy news was first revealed yesterday, when Spanish publication Hola! Confirmed Penelope gave birth to a baby boy on Saturday, at the the exclusive Cedars Sinai hospital in LA.
Now a rep for the star has confirmed the new arrival, revealing mum and baby are in perfect health.
'Penélope and Javier welcomed their first son into their family last week,’ a spokesman confirmed to People. ‘Both parents and baby are doing great.'
The pair have yet to reveal the name of their tiny new arrival.
Javier and Penelope married in July last year, in an intimate ceremony in the Bahamas, but kept things under the radar, with a rep speaking only to confirm the ceremony, and to reveal the bride wore a dress by Galliano.
And the arrival of their baby son isn't the only thing the new parents have to celebrate. Javier was also nominated for an Oscar at this year’s glittering Academy Awards, for his role in latest flick, Biutiful.
