Clearly ecstatic about the pairing, Miranda's mum opened up on Orlando's proposal, revealing he was a ‘true gentleman’ by askingfor their permission first.

'We are thrilled to welcome Orlando into the Kerr family,' said Miranda’s mother, Therese.

Revealing all on the engagement, she gushed: ‘Orlando being the true gentleman he is, followed tradition by asking for Miranda’s hand in marriage and we had no hesitation.

'They truly are a gorgeous couple, are very much in love and bring out the best in each other,' she added. 

Miranda and Orlando are thought to have wed in an ‘intimate ceremony’ in Los Angeles last week, with only a handful of guests.

The Aussie model and Pirates of the Caribbean actor confirmed their nuptials after Miranda pulled out of an appearance at an Australian department store, David Jones.

Now the happy couple have jetted off on a super-secret honeymoon, where it’s thought they will enjoy an extended break together.

And already pregnancy rumours are starting to fly.

But the in-laws confirmed the newlywed pair couldn’t be happier.

‘All we have ever wanted is for our children to be healthy and happy, and we have never seen Miranda healthier and happier than she is right now,’ she said.
