Orlando Bloom sent Miranda Kerr the sweetest birthday message

Who said exes can't be friends?

Break ups are usually messy. There's a lot of crying/drunk dialling/fighting over who owns the Damien Rice CD that you don't actually want (because does anyone even own CD players anymore?)...
And Bella Hadid might make it look easy, but is there anything more awkward than bumping into your ex knowing that they're now dating someone you know? Now imagine that happening publicly in front of the entire world, and you can kind of see why Hollywood couples aren't keen on airing their dirty laundry.
However, schooling us all in the etiquette of dealing with former lovers is Orlando Bloom. The 40 year-old actor was married to Australian model, Miranda Kerr, for three years and they share adorable 6 year-old son, Flynn.
But far from causing headlines with news of bitter feuds and explosive arguments, they are constantly reminding us that it is possible to have a civil relationship with an ex. The former couple have often spoken about each other in interviews and have had nothing but praise for one another and their 'remarkable relationship'.
So it's no surprise that when Orlando took to Instagram to wish Miranda a happy 34th birthday, it wasn't just any old 'HBD' under a throwback snap. It was basically a testament to the fact that he values her as a mother, co-parent and friend.

Beyond cute.
Miranda is currently engaged to Snapchat businessman Evan Spiegel, and while Orlando was dating Katy Perry for just under a year the pair recently split and he proved once again that he's not a grudge-wielding ex lover when he opened up about his split from the Chained To The Rhythm singer.
So it is totally possible to be civil when it comes to your exes.
Consider us schooled, Orlando.
