Oprah Winfrey defends Meghan Markle's baby plans
What a duo!
Words by Maisie Bovingdon
Meghan Markle has the entire nation on tenterhooks waiting for the announcement she has given birth to her first baby with Prince Harry.
Although she has remained tight lipped about her due date, the Duchess of Sussex's friends and family, including Prince Charles, Serena Williams and make-up artist Daniel Martin, have dropped some subtle hints about when we can expect baby Sussex to arrive.
Meghan has decided to buck royal protocol as she has opted for a home birth, and will not pose for a photograph with her newborn on the steps of the Lindo Wing.
While some are confused by the former Suits star's decision, her close friend, Oprah Winfrey, has jumped to Meghan's defence and praised her for not following the royal trend.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the talk show host said: 'To be able to stand up and say this is what I really want for my baby and my family and now I'm going to do it a different way when it's been done that way for a thousand years? I'm just so proud of her.
'Who is ready to walk out and stand before the world and put that face on, you know, a day after you've had a baby?'
